Leon and Luretha both accepted the Lord Jesus as Savior as children, but after their marriage in 1969 they did not seek the Lord or even attend church. After many years of "doing their own thing" they began to have a desire to know the Lord.

In July 1986 at the homegoing of Luretha's uncle, she decided that she needed to renew her relationship with the Lord. At a prayer meeting held in her Aunt's home in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, she rededicated her life to the Lord and was filled with the Holy Spirit. She immediately called Leon at their home in Herndon, VA and told him what had happened and that the Lord spoke to her and told her that Leon would be a minister and would pastor.

After hearing from the Lord, Leon accepted the call of the Lord on his life and also rededicated his life to the Lord and was filled with the Holy Spirit in August 1986. He answered the call of God on his life in 1986 and attended International Bible Institute and Seminary in 1988. He was licensed into the ministry in 1990 and was ordained as an Elder in the church in 1991.

The Lord gave them the vision for Faith Works By Love Ministries in August 1989 and it was manifested in January 1994 through television ministry. Faith Works By Love internet ministry began in February of 1997 and was followed by the Radio ministry in July 1997. Faith Works By Love is a preaching and teaching ministry seeking to save the lost and ministering to the body of Christ, equipping saints to do the work of the ministry.

Leon & Luretha have been married 39 years, have 3 children and 2 grandsons. They live in Herndon, VA.
