Answers to FAQs
Q1: What does it mean to be saved?
A: It means to be
reconciled back to God through Jesus Christ.
2
Corinthians 5:16-21
16
Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though
we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no
longer.17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have
passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus
Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling
the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has
committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through
us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
21
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the
righteousness of God in Him.
Romans 5:9-19
9
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved
from wrath through Him.
10 For if when we
were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much
more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.11
And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through
sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned--
13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but
sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not
sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type
of Him who was to come.15 But the free
gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died,
much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus
Christ, abounded to many.16 And the gift is not
like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came
from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from
many offenses resulted in justification. 17 For
if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those
who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign
in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
18
Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting
in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came
to all men, resulting in justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also
by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous.
Romans 6:23
For the
wages
of
sin is death, but
the gift of God
is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Proverbs
10:16
The labor of
the righteous leads to life, The wages
of the wicked to sin.
Q2: What must I do to be saved?
A:
Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart according to Romans 10.
Romans 10:8-11
8
But what does it say?
"The word is near
you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the
word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you
confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heartthat
God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto
righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the Scripture says,"Whoever
believes on Him will not be put to shame."
John
3:16-17
16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.17
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that
the world through Him might be saved.
Q3: What does it mean not to be saved?
A:
Separation from God and
eternal condemnation.
John 3:18-21
18
He who believes in Him is not condemned;but
he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in
the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19
And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20
For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light,
lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But
he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly
seen, that they have been done in God."
Q4:
Are all men God’s children?
A:
No.
John
1:12-14
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His Name: 13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Romans 8:10-20
10
And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is
life because of righteousness.
11 But if the
Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised
Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His
Spirit who dwells in you. 12 Therefore,
brethren, we are debtors--not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.13
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit
you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.15
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you
received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our
spirit that we are children of God,17
and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if
indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this
present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be
revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation
of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.20
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of
Him who subjected it in hope;
Galatians 4:1-7
1
Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all
from a slave, though he is master of all,
2
but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.3
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the
world. 4 But when the fullness of the time had
come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under
the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the
law,that we might
receive the adoption as sons. 6 And
because you are sons,
God has sent forth
the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"7
Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of
God through Christ.
Romans 5:7-17
7 For scarcely for a righteous
man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still
sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then,
having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through
Him. 10
For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of
His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.11
And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have now received the reconciliation. 12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through
sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned-- 13
(For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there
is no law.14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses,
even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the
transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.15
But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense
many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one
Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.16 And the gift is not

one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive
abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life
through the One, Jesus Christ.)
Q5: What does it
mean to be born again?
A:
Jesus gives us the answer in John 3.
John 3:1-8
1
There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
2
This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You
are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do
unless God is with him." 3 Jesus answered and
said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you,
unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born
when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be
born?" 5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say
to you, unless one
is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.6
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said
to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind
blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where
it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."
John 20: 17-23
17
Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My
Father; but go to My brethren and say to them,'I
am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.' "
18
Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and
that He had spoken these things to her. 19
Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the
doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews,
Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be with you."
20 When He had said this, He showed them His
hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
21 So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you!
As the Father has sent Me, I also send you."22
And when He had said this,He
breathed on them, and said to them,
"Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the
sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are
retained."
Psalm 104 :29-31
29 You hide Your
face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to
their dust. 30 You send forth Your Spirit, they are
created; And You renew the face of the earth. 31 May the
glory of the Lord endure forever; May the Lord rejoice in His works.
Q6: Once we are born again, what should
we do?
A: Have a desire to mature.
1
Peter 2:1-7
1
Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all
evil speaking, 2
as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow
thereby,3 if indeed you have tasted that the
Lord is gracious. 4 Coming to Him as to a
living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,
5 you also, as living stones, are being built
up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices
acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6
Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion A
chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no
means be put to shame."7 Therefore, to you who
believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
"The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,"
2
Timothy 2:15
15
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need
to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Hebrews
5:13-14
13
For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of
righteousness, for he is a babe.
14 But solid food
belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use
have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Romans 12:1-2
1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your
reasonable service.
2 And do not be
conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove
what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
16
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17
that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good
work.
Romans 15:4
4
For whatever things were written before were written
for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures
might have hope.
2 Peter 1:15-21
15
Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of
these things after my decease.
16 For we did not
follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.17
For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a
voice came to Him
from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well
pleased." 18 And we heard this voice
which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.19
And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a
light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star
rises in your hearts; 20knowing
this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,21
for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as
they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
Q7: Who is the Godhead?
A: The Father,
The Son and The Holy Spirit.
1
John 5:7
7
For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the
Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
John 1:1-2
1
In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God.
2
He was in the beginning with God.
Genesis 1:1-3
1
In the beginning
God created the heavens and the earth.
2
The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the
deep. And the
Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3Then
God said, "Let there be light";

Colossians 2:4-14
4 And this I say , lest any
man should beguile you with enticing words.5 Forthough I be
absent in the flesh, yet am I withyou in the spirit, joying and beholding
your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. 6
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:7
Rooted and built up in him,and stablished in the faith, as ye have
been taught , abounding therein with thanksgiving.8 Beware
lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the
tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.9
Forin him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision
made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the
circumcision of Christ:12 Buried with him in baptism,
wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of
God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 Andyou, being
dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened
together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Matthew

I indeed
baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me

Acts
1:8
8
But you shall receive power when
the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me
in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to
the end of the
earth."
Q9: What is the Holy Spirit’s
assignment in the earth today?
A: He leads the
believer, he teaches the believer and he is the truth of God.
He speaks to the believer and
the believer is edified and built up in Christ through him. He convicts the
sinner.
He is also known by these
names: Comforter, Counselor, Intercessor, Helper, The Promise Spirit of God,
Spirit of Truth, and the Spirit of Grace.
Romans 8:14
14
For as many as are
led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
1 John 2:20
20
But you have an
anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
1 John
2:26-27
26
These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.27
But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do
not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you
concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has
taught you, you willabide in Him.
John 16:13
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all
truth; for He will not speak on
His own authority, but whatever He hears He
will speak; and He will tell you things to
come.
3
And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father
nor Me. 4
But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember
that I told you of them. And these things I did not say to you at the
beginning, because I was with you. 5 "But now I
go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, 'Where are You going?'6
But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to
your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away,
the Helper
will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.8
And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin,
because they do not believe in Me; 10 of
righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;11
of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
12 I still have many things to say to you, but
you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He,
the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will
not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He
will tell you things to come.
Hebrews 10:29
Of
how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has

John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and
bring all things to your remembrance , whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come , whom I will
send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth
from the Father, he shall testify of me:

Q 10 How do you receive the Holy Spirit?
A: He can be pured out or hands can be laid upon you, or you can ask The Father, her is a gift to the believer. This is not to be confused with the Spirit of Sonship which is the adoption by The Father through the Spirit in Jesus.

Acts
19:1-7
1
And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed
through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples
2
he said to them,
"Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" So they said to
him, "We have not
so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit."3
And he said to them, "Into what then were you baptized?" So they said, "Into
John's baptism." 4 Then Paul said, "John indeed
baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should
believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus."
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in
the name of the Lord Jesus. 6And
when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they
spoke with tongues and prophesied. 7 Now the
men were about twelve in all.
Luke 11: 9-13
9 "So I say to you, ask, and
it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he
who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.11
If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone?
Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?
12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to
your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit
to those who ask Him!"
Psalm 134
1 Praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD who minister by night in the house of the LORD. 2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the LORD.3 May the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion.
Matthew 4:1-10
1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread." 4 But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' " 5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.' " 7 Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.' "8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.9 And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me." 10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.' " 11Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Hebrews2:9-18
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. 10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 saying: "I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You." 13 And again: "I will put My trust in Him." And again: "Here am I and the children whom God has given Me."14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 16 For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. 17 Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
Ezekiel 28:11-19
11 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 12 "Son of man, take up a lamentation for theking of Tyre, and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord God: "You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. 14"You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. 15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,Till iniquity was found in you. 16 "By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within,And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones. 17 "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, That they might gaze at you. 18 "You defiled your sanctuaries By the multitude of your iniquities, By the iniquity of your trading; Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you. 19 All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, And shall be no more forever." ' "
Luke 10:17-23
17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." 18 And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but ratherrejoice because your names are written in heaven." 21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 22 Allthings have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him." 23 Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see;
Isaiah 14:12-17
12 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! 13 For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' 15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit. 16 "Those who see you will gaze at you, And consider you, saying: 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms, 17 Who made the world as a wilderness And destroyed its cities, Who did not open the house of his prisoners?'
Job 1:6-7
